Proof that a career in HR can genuinely lead to the top seat in the Boardroom, the London HR Connection is delighted to welcome Romana Abdin, CEO of leading healthcare provider Simplyhealth.

Romana joined Simplyhealth in 2001 and became Chief Executive in July 2013.

She joined Simplyhealth because she was impressed with its ethical standards and willingness to incorporate them in all of its corporate activity. She’d previously worked as a barrister in the entertainment and financial services industries.

Simplyhealth has strong values that remain at the centre of everything it does; its focus is always on doing its best for its customers.


A high flyer in several fields, Romana first qualified as a barrister before moving into HR. She was HR Director at Simplyhealth – whilst simultaneously managing Corporate Affairs – before taking over as CEO in July 2013.
