About this event

Social investment has the potential to deliver real benefits—it can help your charity scale up services, develop new projects and smooth out uneven cashflow. But it is a relatively new form of finance, and many charities are exploring it for the first time and wondering whether it is right for them.

Social investment is not the answer for all charities: like all investment, it involves risk; it has to be repaid, so charities need a reliable income stream; and it cannot replace the income that charities receive from donations and contracts.

NPC’s workshop offers a practical, straightforward introduction to social investment for charities. With no more than 15 participants, our interactive, hands-on session will discuss the background to social investment, explain the risks and opportunities involved, and offer an opportunity to do an initial assessment of whether it is appropriate for your charity.

Very useful introduction and food for thought to give a general overview of ‘what is social investment’.
