Accounting and Finance Education

 The conference is designed to provide:

  • the setting for discussions of the relevance of accounting and finance education research to professional practice amongst a range of other topics in the area of accounting and finance education;
  • a forum for emerging and full papers;
  • workshops at which researchers can develop ideas for projects or discuss current work and ideas;
  • opportunities for accounting educators to identify partners (or institutions) for collaborative research;
  • a network of continuing support amongst attendees.

 

 Full papers will describe completed projects. Discussant’s comments will be provided on full papers at the time of the Conference. In the spirit of support within our academic community, presenting authors of full papers will also be asked to act as a Discussants for another colleagues' full paper.  Once accepted, full papers wil have to be sent to the Conference Organiser by 31 March 2015 (so that they can to be sent to the Discussants). Full papers will be allocated a 30 min presentation slot in the Conference Programme. Presenters will be offered the option to leave a copy of the final presentation with the Conference Organiser for adding to the Conference Website after the Conference.

Emerging papers will describe either the initial stages of a project or the initial analysis of findings. Emerging papers will be allocated a 20 min presentation slot in the Conference Programme. Presenters will be offered the option to leave a copy of the final presentation with the Conference Organiser for adding to the Conference Website after the Conference.

If you wish to submit a full or emerging paper for inclusion in the Confernece Programme - please send an abstract to the Conference Organiser by 28 February 2015. Please indicate if the abstract you send is for a full or an emerging paper.

 

 CONFERENCE FEE INFORMATION:

There are different ticket types:

FULL CONFERENCE (day and evening): £XXXX
Includes refreshments and lunch each day and conference dinner on Thursday
Delegates must arrange their own accommodation.
The Full conference fee includes one year’s subscription to Accounting Education: An international journal and one year’s BAFA membership for those who are not already members and complete the Membership form in delegate packs at the time of the conference.

FULLY SUBSIDISED PLACES:
A limited number of fully subsidised conference places are available for delegates that apply and meet all of the below criteria. Consideration of applications for a free place will be made on receipt of all applicable documentation by the Conference Organisers. Criteria you have to meet to apply for a fully subsidised place:

- you are now to Accounting Education research, and
- have not published in a refereed journal, and
- have not attended the BAFA AE SIG Conference previously, and
- you have submitted (and have had accepted) a full or emerging paper for presentation at the Conference

DISCOUNTED PHD PLACES:

Payment instructions (Cheque, PayPal or BACS transfer) will be shown on completion of your registration and are also available at the Conference Website

CANCELLATION POLICY
Due to the commitment made to the conference venue we are only able to refund half of the conference cost if cancellation is made before 14 April 2014. Cancellation after this date will not be refunded but delegate substitution will be available. In this case, details of the substitute must be given to the conference organiser.
