It is a flipped educational program with pre reading and viewing of materials and a totally hands on approach during the workshop. At the end of this life changing workshop, participants will take away tangible digital educational resources in their subject matter

 

IT for performance overdrive – a faculty development program for health care professionals

 

This course will provide the competencies for health care professionals to optimize the use of current technology and programs to optimize their practice, life and career. It is a flipped educational program with pre reading and viewing of materials and a totally hands on approach during the workshop. At the end of this life changing workshop, participants will take away tangible digital educational resources in their subject matter.

Technical Requirements: Participants will need to bring a laptop (PC or Mac) and a mobile device (Android phone, iPhone, or any tablet) to the workshop. It is critical to have the most up-to-date browser on your laptop. Google Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer 9 are all recommended.

  • Understand the use of  learning management systems (LMS)
  • To  describe and use the components of the  Moodle LMS
  • List ,understand and use the functionality of a virtual learning environment (VLC WizIq)and student response system (Socrative)

Deploying and distributing educational resources 1430 - 1600

  •  Use a portable version of Moodle (Poodle) to deploy your program
  • To  test and evaluate your program on Moodle
  • Be able to redesign and review your program as necessary
